Well, the job i mentioned in the previous post is something special, let me tell you.
I was holding my "Looking for WORK" sign tuesday and a lady stops and asks me if i really want to work, i said yes of course. Next thing she hands me a Tanning Salon card and asks me to be there at 1PM. Her business just opened and she needed more advertising, i was to hold a sign outside for her.
I get there, and the sign is 9 foot tall. No problem. I'm to stand across the street facing the traffic and just hold the sign.
I did that for a few minutes, then realized that if i didn't bring any customers into the business the chances of her asking me to come back another day would be low. I had to get the attention of people somehow... so i started dancing next to the sign from 1PM to 5PM which was the time she hired me for.
She was extremely happy, customers had gone in mentioning me!
So, a one-day gig turned into an everyday job until this Sunday from 3-6PM every day. I've danced more in the past few days than in the past 15 years!
Yesterday the business was dead, nobody was going in. Until i started my performance and business picked up. Well, when i went back inside at 6PM, Linda (the owner) had Boston Market food for me, water and told me to start from 2-6PM starting Friday and it looks like she may want me to work next week as well.
She offered me a condo to live in, but i changed the subject since it took me by surprise. She is 49 yrs old, blonde, 5' and a former escort (she looks 35), but her intentions were in the form of helping me out, not anything shady or, you know... any other way her offer may appear to be.
Things are going well with my friend Shawna, and that is making me consider staying in the states a bit longer to also avoid the canadian winter. No word from Giselle so i may have to end my contact with her.
Overall, i'm doing ok. Once i have one of those pay-as-you-go phones i will be calling my friend in North Carolina and see how she's doing. I wish my laptop worked in the library, i'd be using ventrilo every day, heh.
Oh well, it's almost time to go to work.
